finally

I got the much-needed haircut! I feel so gaan now. Hehe.

When the stylist asked me what kind of cut I wanted, I showed her my grad pic. She said, "why you want cut like that ah? So old fashioned." Haha. Oo nga ano, 2002 pa nga pala kinunan yun. She said she'll cut my hair short but with a hint of modern. I dunno if it looks modern because it still looks 2002 to me. Hehe.

I like it but I didn't feel as WOAH! when I got a perm from Bench FIX or when I had my hair cut by Rachel at H Salon. But the new cut works, and I'm sure I'll have fun accessorizing it.

Cosmeticus Addictus

Just a bit over a month, ubos na ang aking face powder! Kaya kagabi I visited the MAC counter at Vivo City para bumili ng bago. Nagpacheck ulit ako ng shade after Tanya told me she's an NC35. It's impossible that Tanya's skin is darker than mine. Tisay siya eh ako morena.

Lo and behold! Tama si Aaron. NC45 ako! That's three shades (I think) darker than what I'm using now (NC30). Buti walang kumakagat sa akin sa daan at napagkamalan akong espasol. Hihi.

And because I was in the mood for some credit card scraping, I also bought Plushlash mascara in Plushblack. I love mascara. It opens up my eyes and gives me a certain glow that's more fab than when I'm only wearing blush and lip gloss. It finishes my everyday look and makes me look more alive.

Anyway, back to Plushlash. I could say it's the best mascara I've worn since I started using makeup. I wanted to post a photo of me wearing it this morning but we were running late so here's the review from Karen of Makeup and Beauty Blog:

MAC Plushlash will kick your Plushass!

I’m usually a big fan of drugstore (aka cheap!) mascaras and makeup, but MAC Plushlash is actually worth spending your hard earned cash on. And, baby, I know you work hard for that money.

Plushlash awesomeness begins with the huge brush. It’s all puppies and rainbows from that point on, ladies:

- excellent curl hold
- great lengthening and thickening
- deep, dark black color
- doesn’t smudge

Everything she said is true! Compared with what I'm currently using (Maybelline Unstoppable Mascara), Plushlash doesn't smudge and is wayyyyyy easier to apply. I love it! I'm in mascara heaven! Hihi.

And that's another priceless moment brought to me by Citibank.

Beauty-full weekend

I attended the Bobbi Brown Glamour Nude Make Up Artistry Workshop last Saturday. It was fun using all those Bobbi Brown products and learning the proper way of applying them. Here is my before and after pic:

Before: The ngarag I-can't-even-fix-my-bangs look. Medyo malelate na kasi ako for class niyan.

After: I thought the eyes looked too shiny pero when I got home it was beautiful pala. I told B with matching pungay ng mata, "mukha akong seductress!." Hehehe.

So, what did I learn?

1. Invest in make up brushes. This I have yet to do.

2. Apply make up only on clean and moisturized skin. During the class, we were instructed to apply cleanser first tapos toner. After cleansing, naglagay kami ng serum (anti-aging) then face base. I loved the serum.

3. Find the foundation that best matches your skin tone. At kung susubok kayo from the counter, iapply sa skin na malapit sa jawline, hindi sa wrist. Try at least two shades of foundation.

4. Bago maglagay ng foundation, do all the corrective work first. During the class, pinagamit kami ng color corrector at concealer under the eyes para mawala ang dark circles.

5. After applying foundation, seal it with loose powder, not pressed powder. Pressed powder is only for retouching. (This I didn't know.)

6. Apply blush. Smile so you can find the highest point of your cheeks. Tapos ang pagapply is three small strokes downward, one sweeping stroke toward the temple then blend with downward strokes.

7. Then apply lipstick. Tsaka hindi daw everyday may oras tayo to apply eye makeup. Top it off with lip gloss.

8. Work your eyebrows. In mahogany. Never use black on your brows daw kasi lahat daw tayo may brown undertones.

9. Here comes the complicated part: the eyes. Medyo nawindang ako sa instructions pagdating sa eye make up kaya buti na lang nirescue ako ni kuya. Basta sabi nila it's all about layering. And patience. Hehehe.

10. Nakakuha din ako ng madaling method ng pagaapply ng mascara (which is the only eye makeup I put on everyday). Dapat yung mirror mas mababa kesa sa face tapos tingala ng kaunti then your eyes should look down. Hilahin ng kaunti pataas ang brow para mastretch yung talukap then curl your lash. Same din ang position pagapply ng mascara. I tried it today and it worked!!! Mas madali nga maglagay ng mascara.

I would say the $150 fee I paid was sulit. Aside from learning the basics, I was able to take home a lot of goodies pa! Tada!

Aylavet!

That same day, I also rinsed my hair with a mixture of lemon juice and water (juice of one lemon and three parts water). I felt I needed a clarifying rinse since I use mousse on my hair daily. I rinsed my hair with the lemon mixture after using shampoo and conditioner then rinsed it with water after three minutes. Effective!

Super clean ng feeling ng scalp and hair. Tanggal ang residues . I will rinse my hair with it weekly na.

bagay ba sa'kin ang kulot?

Pag walang magawa, pag-initan ang buhok.

Presenting my latest look--

I'm lovin' the bangs and the enhanced curls. Now the Amazona look I'm gunning for is complete. Hehehe.

The photo was taken right after Rachel Aguila of H Salon cut and styled it so it is still well behaved. Nevertheless, I'm happy I got a cut. I feel much lighter now, less manang-ish and more free.

I'm an NC30, and Tanya, mas mura diyan ang MAC

Thank you sa mga nagsuggest ng MAC. I bought a Sheer Select pressed powder yesterday and I'm loving it so far.

It disappeared like magic!

Another happy shopper!

calling manila's beautiful

I need your help!

I'm bored with my hair. I need a new and refreshing look. Where can I get a nice cut? I might be lucky enough to squeeze in an appointment with a stylist when we go home next.

H Salon? Propaganda? Toni & Guy? Fix? Kulotacious and buhaghagacious at that. Ayoko na sa dati kong stylist. Sawa na ako sa kanya. Hahaha.

Suggestions please!
