the boracay post

I'm back from Boracay--with sunburnt skin. B and I decided we both wanted to be more maitim when we go back to Manila so nagbilad kami sa beach ng morning to 2pm. Cancerous! But the hapdi is all worth it. Ang sarap mag-beach!

I love Boracay and I hope I can go there again next year. Di ba B? Hehe.

B and I took the long way to paradise. We left Manila on Thursday evening and arrived at the Batangas pier around 11pm. We immediately bought tickets for the Ro-Ro going to Calapan scheduled to leave at midnight.

The first time I went to Boracay, I rode the Ro-Ro too so I wasn't ecstatic about the journey at all. Riding the Ro-Ro is really uncomfortable, unless you ride the one with cushioned seats. The one we rode that night only had Monobloc chairs screwed on the floor. Ang hirap matulog, nakakasakit ng leeg! I endured the trip by looking forward to getting to Boracay the following day. Besides, B and I were together so mas bearable dahil may ka-cuddle at kakwentuhan ako.

We arrived at Calapan around 3am. We hurried to find a tricycle that will take us to B's home so we can meet his family because the van that will take us to Roxas was already on its way there. Along the way to B's house, nakasalubong na namin yung van so sumakay na kami. Walang hilamos, walang toothbrush, walang kain, walang kahit ano!

After we picked up B's aunts and the other guests, we went on our way to Roxas. The ride was rough and bumpy so kahit na antok na antok kami, nahirapan kami makagawa ng tulog.

We were in Roxas at around 6am, just in time for the 8:30am Ro-Ro trip to Caticlan. Unfortunately, the 8:30am trip didn't exist and we were told that we had to wait for the 12 noon trip. This and the pagod and the gutom dampened our spirits.

We ate breakfast muna at the terminal's canteen. Buti na lang B's mom brought rice and ulam. After eating, Lean, Ate Day's fiance suggested that we go to the nearby resort so we can all take a bath and relax. We liked the idea so nagtricycle kami at pinatulan and resort sa tabi ng pier.

It was okay naman. Although mabato ang beach at malakas ang alon. Di ako nagswim masyado at nagscrub na lang ng paa using the stones sa shore. May pool so dun na lang ako nagbabad.

We went back to the pier at around 10:30am. Pagdating namin B's mom already bought tickets
for us. So we waited until mga 11:30am para magboard sa Ro-Ro.

Buti na lang the seats were cushioned. Kahit na medyo uncomfy pa rin, it was better than Monobloc chairs. We left Roxas at around 12:30.

I was thankful na wala ako sa Makati nun and worried din.

After four hours, we docked at the Caticlan pier and a few minutes past 5, we were already walking on the fine sands of Boracay, just in time for the sunset.

After we settled where we'll be staying, B and I went to Friday's to meet his family. Nag-all-you-can-eat dinner kami ni B! Sobrang gutom na kasi kami nun eh. May napanood pa kaming cultural show dun na nagshowcase ng Philippine folk dances. Astig yung tinikling. Ang bibilis ng paa ng dancers!

After dinner, B and I walked to station 2. We went around d'mall na nagmistula nang maliit siyudad. May Ice Monster, may mga ticketing offices, may Mongkok, may Hobbit House atbp. Meron pang ferris wheel sa gitna! When you're there, malilimutan mong nasa Boracay island ka. Sayang at di ko napicturan.

We each had a bottle of beer at the Summerplace and went home around midnight.

The next day, we had the rest of the morning to ourselves so nagbabad nga kami sa beach, nag-Jonah's banana choco peanut at banana choco vanilla shake, kumain ng inihaw at sinigang na tanigue at nagbabad pa ulit sa beach. Umuwi kami ng 2pm at at around 3pm, nagprepare na kami for the wedding.

Nakakatouch.

Yun lang ang masasabi ko. :)

Siempre kung may wedding, may kainan after. Unang nilabas yung crostini's tsaka oysters. I ate a lot of crostini's pero isang oyster lang kinain ko. Di talaga ako fan ng talaba.

Buffet ang dinner so kumuha ako ng crab, shrimps, lamb, arroz a la valenciana at mashed potatoes. Meron ding sushi bar pero nasawa na ako dun the previous night so di na ako masyadong kumain. We had leche flan and fruits for dessert.

Hehe. :) The other girls were competitive. Talagang liyad kung liyad!

B and I went home afterwards dahil pagod na.

We said goodbye to Boracay the next day and took the 2:10pm flight from Kalibo to Manila.

Haaaay.

Buti pa sa Boracay. Walang politika.
